Along with Doors Open the North York Historical Society is producing the following walks:
Produced by: City of Toronto
Revisit the exciting past of Hogg’s Hollow in the Yonge and York Mills area at the west branch of the Don River. Named after James Hogg, who emigrated to Toronto in 1824, Hogg’s Hollow has a rich history that includes the beautifully restored Miller Tavern, a.k.a. the Jolly Miller, that is steeped in stories spanning over a century. We will visit the St. James Anglican Church and cemetery, Toronto’s second oldest Anglican church, whose congregants played a large role in the 1837 Upper Canada rebellion. The North York Historical Society is an active group of community members passionate about preserving and promoting North York history.
Please note: There are three large and steep staircases on this tour.
