Speaker: Bill Aird, Board Member of the North York Historical Society
The land area that is currently known as North York was home to Aboriginal peoples for millennia before the coming of settler populations from Europe.
In the first part, we discuss the process which lead to the exclusion of the aboriginal people from this area by the European authorities.
In the second part we follow the development of the area until the formation of North York as a self-governing entity separate from York County.
