Lambton House Exhibit: What’s Up With the Humber River? @ Lambton House
Jan 1 – Jul 31 all-day

2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the Humber River’s designation as a heritage river by the Canadian Heritage Rivers System. This exhibition looks at how humans have used and impacted the Humber River for over 11,000 years.

The exhibit will be open Sundays 12:30 – 4pm from January – July 2019 at Lambton House (4066 Old Dundas St.).

Weston Historical Society Presents “The HOME Movie History Project”: Hurricane Hazel @ The Village of Humber Heights Retirement Home

The Weston Historical Society will be holding its General Meeting on Wednesday June 5, 2019, at The Village of Humber Heights Retirement Home, 2245 Lawrence Avenue West, at 7:30 p.m.

The topic will be “Hurricane Hazel, Other Local Calamities and the Drama of Daily Life – Toronto’s west-end in the 50’s and 60’s,” presented by The Home Movie History Project.

Friends and family are all welcome!

Refreshments will be served after the meeting!

The North York Historical Society has received the following notice of a Celebration of Life from the family of sculptor Adrienne Alison, who passed away on November 14, 2018. (Please also see NYHS Remembers Sculptor Adrienne Alison.)

Late last year Adrienne passed away from a 2 year battle with cancer.

We would like to invite you to attend the Celebration of Life for Adrienne Alison on June 8th, 2019 (Saturday) from 4-8pm at Wychwood Barns (601 Christie Street). Anyone who would like to attend the event is welcome. The celebration will feature a retrospective of Adrienne’s art, food, drinks, and live music. There is no planned speeches or format, so you are welcome to stop by anytime from 4-8pm.

If you will be attending, please RSVP to aacelebration2019@gmail.com as it will help us get an idea of numbers.
